Moses led the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery and to the edge of the land promised to them. But after his death, it would be Joshua’s responsibility to actually lead the Israelites into that land. In the book of Joshua, God encourages him with these words: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 ESV)

God knew that although it was a blessing to enter the Promised Land, it was also going to be intimidating, challenging, and scary. So, God reminds Joshua to be strong and courageous; not because conquering this land would be easy, but because whatever happens, God promised to be with him.

If you are facing fear and intimidation as you step out in faith, I want to encourage you to find strength and courage in this truth: you are not alone. God is with you, and His presence in your life is your greatest source of power and strength, no matter what you are facing today.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for always being with me. Please help me to always trust that You are with me, especially when life gets hard. In Jesus Christ Name I pray, Amen.
