“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV)

When I’m scared, I read Psalm 91. When I’m fearful, I read Isaiah 12:2. When I’m intimidated, I read Joshua 1:9. When I’m restless, I read Psalm 116:7-9. When I’m overwhelmed, I read Philippians 4:6-7. When I’m insecure, I read 2 Corinthians 5:7. The list could go on . . . .

God’s Word has become a source of strength, power, and comfort for me. I have yet to face a battle that the Lord has not addressed in His Word. God knew life here would be challenging. He knew we would struggle. Even Jesus tells us in this world we will have trouble (John 16:33). However, one of the most important blessings He has bestowed upon us is His unfailing Word.

Many times, we can overlook the Bible as just another book, as an obligation, or simply boring. But it’s so much more. The Bible tells us God’s Word will equip “us for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:17 ESV) I want to encourage you today with this reminder: when you pick up your Bible, you are picking up your greatest source of strength.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unfailing Word. I pray that You would spark a passion in us to seek You through Your Word like never before. Thank You for the peace, strength, and life change that only Your Word can bring. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
