The world will give us so many quick schemes on how to live, but it is in the Word of God that we find His best plans for our lives. In the Bible, God lays out a blueprint for us as to how we can live our lives. He does so not as a dictator who just wants control to feel good about Himself, but as a loving Father whose desire is for us to live an abundant and peaceful life. God tells us in Jeremiah 29:11:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)
As we follow the example of Christ in the Bible, we receive God’s direction on how to live this one life we’ve been blessed with. When we don’t know how to raise our kids, when we don’t know how to be a good spouse, or when we don’t know what we should do next in our business, it is the Word of God that provides us the wisdom and insight that we need to navigate this uncertain world. God’s word is not a punishment to us. It is not a list of rules so that we can have a miserable life. God’s Word is given to us as a gift so that we will know how to find our way to the abundant life that Christ died for us to have. Today, I invite you to follow God’s blueprint for your life as you learn and grow from Him through His Word.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for having an abundant life planned for me. When I become discouraged, please help me to trust You more and Your faithful track record. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
