Day 3: Start Small. Finish Strong.
Reading: Micah 5:2-5
Around 700 years before the birth of Christ, the prophet Micah foretold that Jesus would be born in a town called Bethlehem. Bethlehem was a small town that could easily be overlooked as insignificant. All that would change with the coming Messiah. Micah 5:2 says:
“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.” (Micah 5:2 NLT)
Jesus would be born a fragile baby and rule as a mighty God. He would be born in a humble town and establish an everlasting Kingdom. From this, we learn a very important lesson: it doesn’t matter where you come from as much as where you’re going.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for starting small and finishing strong. Nothing is too hard for You. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
