Day 17: A Child is Born
Reading: Luke 2:6-7
While in Bethlehem, Mary gave birth to Jesus, as had been promised hundreds of years before. Luke 2:7 reads:
“She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.” (Luke 2:7 NLT)
There was no room for Mary and Joseph, so our Savior King was born in a manger, humbly wrapped in strips of cloth. From the beginning, the world did not welcome Jesus, yet He came to love and save this World. The world made no room for Him, but when we make room for Him in our hearts, we receive the salvation He came to give.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for receiving me even when You were not received by this world. I welcome You into my heart to love and rule forever. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
