As a fairly new Christian, the thought of spiritual warfare frightened me because I didn’t truly understand the power I had in Christ. I felt so weak, defenseless, and scared at the thought that there was an enemy that wanted to destroy me. I just wanted to live for Jesus. As I’ve grown in Christ, however, I’ve learned two important facts every believer needs to know:
- First, God is greater than our enemy.
- Second, we are on God’s side.
Ephesians 6:13 says:
“Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” (Ephesians 6:13 ESV)
With this in mind, as long as we stand firm in Christ, we will be able to have victory over all of Satan’s attacks. So, stand with Christ. Walk with Him and speak to Him daily making every effort to maintain your relationship with Him, and thus your victory through Him.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the power you have given me. I pray for a heart to continually seek you that I may experience your power and protection more and more. In Jesus’ Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
