God is love. Jesus loves you. Love wins. All these cliches sound good, but they do not impact our lives unless we believe that God loves us and then act like we are, in fact, loved by God. Our challenge is that we don’t always feel that God loves us. 1 John 4:19 tells us:
“We love because he first loved us.” (1 John 4:19 ESV)
We can’t love God, others, or even ourselves unless we first come to the realization that God loves us. We can read that God loves us in the Bible, but we are impacted by His love as we experience His love for ourselves in our lives. So, how do we both know and experience God’s love? Well, first, we have to realize that God is showing us His love every single day.
Take some time to reflect on the times you felt most loved by God and how He’s showing that same love to you today and every day.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me first and always. May I remember your love for me always, and may your love be the leading force in my life.
In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
