God shows His love by the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, so that we may have a relationship with Him. John 15:13 says:
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13 ESV)
This gift of love holds so much value. God considers us worth the sacrifice. How many people do you know that would actually lay their life down for you? Some people won’t even let us have a bite of their food or help us move out of our apartment, but God gave His Son so that we could know Him. The artificial love of the world will quickly fade, but the lasting love of God has proven to be true. May we always be reminded of the greater love we have in Christ.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me a greater love through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. May I not become discouraged by the artificial love of the world, but instead hold to your true and lasting love for me. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
