When you love someone, you want to spend all the time in the world with them. As my husband and I fell in love in college, we would spend so much time together and spend countless hours on the phone when we were apart. Throughout the scriptures, we see God’s call to just be with Him, to come to Him, to abide in Him. King David who was called a man after God’s own heart, wrote:

“One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.” (‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

David loved God and in turn, wanted to spend time with God. That sense you have to wake up and pray, go to Church, or enter worship is God leading you to spend time with Him because He loves you. May we lean into this sense and give God one of our most precious gifts: time.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the love You have faithfully covered me with. I pray for time in your presence to bask in Your love and peace. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
