We know that God gave His Son, Jesus Christ, so we could be cleansed of our sins and in relationship with Him. But He also gives us His Holy Spirit so that He can always be with us. Luke 11:13 says:
“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:13 ESV)
Giving and receiving gifts is a sign of love. Many men will give an engagement ring to the woman that they love, as a sign that they want to be with this woman forever. The Holy Spirit is a sign that we are God’s and He is ours.
The Holy Spirit is a good gift that God gives us so that He always dwells with us and also serves as His promise to be with us forever. This means we always have access to all the ways God loves us as the Holy Spirit guides us, reminds us of God’s Word, comforts us, and ensures that the Beloved of God are never alone.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the precious gift of Your Holy Spirit. May I always remember that I am never alone. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
