Many people turn from God because they don’t truly know and understand His character. They mistakenly think He is this mean God who sits on High, ready to strike you down at a moment’s notice. This is so far from the truth. John 3:17 tells us:
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:17 ESV)
God’s purpose from the very beginning was to bring us back to Himself and love us. That is still His purpose today. So when we feel condemned, may we remember the purposeful love of God for us.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love that doesn’t condemn but saves. May I rest in Your sure love for me. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
