We can’t control our feelings if we act like we don’t have feelings. At the same time, however, we can’t control our feelings if we only acknowledge how we feel, but stop there. God’s call to be led by Him does not mean we ignore how we feel. That’s why He also calls us to cast our cares on Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says:

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” ‭‭(1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

Take time to pray to God and pour out your heart to Him. Be honest with Him about how you feel and know that He can take it. Not being controlled by our feelings doesn’t mean we don’t have feelings or stuff them inside. It means we trust our feelings with God by casting our cares on Him.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for carrying my worries and cares so I don’t have to. I pray to release my concerns to You and that You work everything out for Your glory and my good. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
