April 30 • God Will Make a Way

One of the most important lessons we must learn as believers is that our current circumstances do not determine our final destination. We serve a God who knows how to make a way where there seems to be no way.

When the Israelites stood trapped between the Egyptian army and the Red Sea, it looked like the end. But God parted the waters, allowing them to walk across on dry ground—and then drowned their enemies behind them. God not only made a way, but He removed the threat at the same time.

Later, when it came time for the Israelites to enter the Promised Land, they faced the gushing waters of the Jordan River. It seemed impossible for two million people to cross. But again, God made a way, holding back the waters so they could walk through safely.

God tells us in Isaiah 43:18-19:

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (ESV)

We’re reminded once again that our past and present conditions don’t limit what God can do.

So let me ask you: What have you given up on because it looks impossible? A wayward child? A strained marriage? A long-awaited prayer?

Don’t lose heart. If you only live by what you see, you’ll miss the new paths God is creating for you. This is why we are called to walk by faith, not by sight.

God is still making a way.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being the God who makes a way out of no way. Help me to trust You beyond what I see and to believe in the new thing You are doing in my life. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
