Have you ever wondered how to approach God’s throne of grace with true confidence? The secret lies in aligning our prayers with His will. 1 John 5:13-15 says:
“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” (1 John 5:14-15 ESV)
When we pray God’s will, we can always be confident and sure that He will answer. But how can we pray for God’s will? We have to know His will as revealed in His word. This means drawing near to Him and growing in our relationship with Him. You can’t know His will if you don’t know Him personally. Additionally, we must allow Him to transform our hearts to make His will our will. Too often, we do it the other way around and try to make our will God’s will. But God is faithful in molding our hearts to be like His.
He’s faithful in meeting us where we are and giving us what we need, even when we don’t know we need it yet. And that is why we can always confidently approach His throne of grace.
Prayer: Lord, help us to align our prayers with Your will. Draw us closer to You and transform our hearts to be more like Yours. Thank You for hearing us and meeting our needs. Amen.
