April 26 • The Gift of Trust

We talk a lot about trusting God, but when life gets real—when the numbers don’t add up, when the plan doesn’t make sense—that’s when trust gets tested. And what I’ve learned is this: trust isn’t just a decision in your head—it’s the posture of your heart.

It’s believing, deep down, that God is for you, He’ll provide for you, and He is with you.

I remember when I was pregnant with our first child and made the decision to resign from my job. My husband and I went from two incomes supporting two people to one income supporting three. Let me tell you, the math did not make sense. But we knew God was leading us in that direction. And if He was leading us, we believed He’d sustain us.

And He did. Every single time we had a need, God met it—often down to the exact dollar and cent. That season taught me that trust isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about knowing Who is with you in the uncertainty. And once you’ve seen God come through, it becomes a little easier to trust Him with bigger decisions, bigger risks, and greater faith. Hebrews 11:1 says:

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (ESV)

Faith is knowing in your heart what can’t always be seen with your eyes. The more we practice trust, the more peace we receive. Not because the problems go away, but because our hearts stay anchored in the One who never fails.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being faithful and trustworthy. When life doesn’t make sense, help me to keep my eyes on You. Teach me to trust You not just with my thoughts, but with my whole heart. Let my peace come from Your presence and not my circumstances. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
