April 3 • Humility Isn’t Hiding

God didn’t call you out of darkness so that you could hide in the shadows. He called you to be a light—a reflection of His glory in a world that desperately needs it. This calling isn’t optional. It’s not a suggestion or a “maybe if you feel like it” invitation. It’s a divine assignment. And yet so many of us stay hidden.

We’ve written the book, but didn’t publish it. Or we published it, but never promoted it, so no one ever saw it. We create in private, encourage in silence, and sit on ideas God placed in our hearts. And then we tell ourselves, “I’m just being humble.”

But here’s the truth: humility isn’t hiding. Humility is obedience. It’s doing what God told you to do and trusting Him with the outcome. Pride isn’t always loud and boastful—it can look like playing small to stay comfortable. But if the reason you’re staying hidden is to protect yourself instead of obeying God, that’s not humility—it’s fear in disguise. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:14:

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (ESV)

Your gifts were never meant to be buried. Let them shine—not for your glory, but for God’s.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me out of darkness and into Your marvelous light. Help me to stop hiding what You’ve placed in me and trust You as I walk in obedience. I want to reflect Your glory in every season, seen or unseen. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
