One of our greatest fears in life is failure. We simply don’t want to mess up. We don’t want to face the disappointment and embarrassment of not getting it right. Unfortunately, this fear stops many of us from moving forward. While we wait for perfect conditions to take a first step, we only wait in vain. Psalm 94:18 tells us:
“When I thought, ‘My foot slips,’ your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.” (Psalm 94:18 ESV)
God does not promise we won’t fail. He promises to love us anyway and to pick us up when we stumble, mess up, or lose focus. When our foot starts to slip off the path God has called us, we can rest assured God’s love will always provide a way to guide us back in the right direction. We may slip, but He won’t let us fall.
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for boldness to step out to do what I was made to do and faith to trust You are ordering every step. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
