The more challenging our circumstances, the harder it is sometimes to live for Jesus. A lost job, a failing marriage, an emotional struggle, a seemingly impossible temptation. I like to call these situations wilderness seasons. Those periods in life where you just don’t think you will make it and where you feel you have already lost before you’ve even tried. I’ve been there. We all have. And Jesus has been there too.

The Bible tells us Jesus has been tested in every way. Hebrews 4:15 says:

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15 ESV)

So Jesus is not surprised or even intimidated by the challenges you may be facing today because although He lived a sinless life it was not free of trouble, trials, and temptations. The good news for us is that Jesus was victorious over all His suffering. I want to encourage you today with this truth: Jesus suffered as a reminder that whatever we are going through, no matter how challenging, difficult or tempting; there is always victory in Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for sending Your Son to not only die for my sins but for showing me how to live in victory and not defeat. In Jesus Christ Name, I pray, Amen.
