As a young girl, I slept with a special pillow every night. It’s funny to see my children with the same attachment to their special items. My son has a blue blanket he loves to hold during nap time and nighttime. No other blanket will do. When I try to give him another blanket, he looks at me like, “Now Mommy, you know this isn’t the same.” Some things just can’t be replaced.
The same is true for our God. There is none like Him. 1 Samuel 2:2 reads:
“There is none holy like the Lord: for there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God.” (1 Samuel 2:2 ESV)
What God do you know came from Heaven to rescue His people? What God do you know would pay the price for our sin because He desires and loves us? What God would go any distance just to make the ultimate sacrifice so we might know His love for us? I only know one: Jesus Christ. You can search all over, but I promise you there’s none like Him.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being You and loving me in such special and sacrificial ways. I pray to always be led and encouraged by your one-of-a-kind love for me. In Jesus’ Christ’s name, I pray, amen.
