Day 15: The Way Prepared

Reading: Luke 1:67-80

Instead of doubting that God would give him a son, Zechariah now uses his words to prophesy over the life of his son, John. Zechariah says in Luke 1:76-77:

“And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins.” (‭‭Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭76‬-‭77‬ ‭ESV)

God sent many signs of the coming Messiah, including John the Baptist, who would prepare the way for Jesus. The way that would lead many to salvation in Christ. John would be the first, but he certainly would not be the last. How blessed are we to have a path to God, prepared by John and eternally established by Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for making a way for me to be in relationship with You and that there is nothing that can get in the way of Your love for me. May my life be a reflection of my sincere gratitude for Your everlasting love for me. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
