Day 9: Highly Favored of the Lord
Reading: Luke 1:26-29

In alignment with the prophecy of the coming Messiah in the Old Testament, we learn that Jesus will be born of the Virgin Mary. She is a young woman who is pledged to marry a man named Joseph. What may have been considered inconvenient, God calls favored. Luke 1:28 tells us:

“The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”(Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭28‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

God trusted Mary, and she was called favored. What has God trusted you with? It may feel inconvenient and impossible, but high calls are not to test our ability but God’s. We’ll soon learn nothing is impossible for God.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for trusting me even when I don’t trust myself. I pray for the strength and power to faithfully answer Your call on my life. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
