God shows us His love for us when He reminds us of His Word. Not only does God give us His Word, but He writes it on our hearts. This act of love ensures we always have His truth to cover, lead, and guide us. The Word of God is called the bread of life because it feeds our souls. Jesus said in Matthew 4:4:
“But he answered, ‘It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4 ESV)
Not only does God’s Word protect us like a sword (Ephesians 6:17), but it is God’s very own love letter to us describing the extent He went to be with us. Oftentimes, when we’re going through something or need guidance, God will place a scripture or verse on our hearts to help us along the way. That’s Him speaking to us and loving us so much that He gives us the Word we need right when we need it. May we find strength and comfort today in God’s loving truth found in His Word.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the love and truth found in the pages of Your Word. May the scriptures be written on my heart so that I will never forget Your true love for me. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
