How amazing is it that we can know the God of the universe! Even more, how wonderful is it that God loves and cares for us! It’s amazing and wonderful because God doesn’t need us. Whether or not we obey Him or place our faith in Him, God is still God. Yet he still desires us.
Psalm 8:4 asks, “What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” (ESV) Do you know why God cares for us even though he doesn’t need us? Because we are made in his image.
My children never have to do anything, and I will always love them. The same is true for God. Today I want to encourage you not to become obsessed with what you do or don’t do for God. Remember: he loves you for who you are—his beloved daughter.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the love you have for me. May I stay focused on your care for me, and may I live like the beloved daughter that I am. In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray, Amen.
