January 26 • God is Greater Than Your Wilderness

No one wants to go through a wilderness season. I’ve learned, however, that these seasons have a purpose we don’t want to miss.

On the other side of Jesus’ wilderness season was a ministry that would bring salvation to the world. On the other side of Elijah’s wilderness season was a personal, life-changing encounter with God. On the other side of the Israelites’ wilderness season was their Promised Land.

Notice the trend? Our wilderness season is the very season God will use to usher us into the blessings he has for us. James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” (ESV)

The more we trust God in this season, the more we will be prepared for our blessing. I want to encourage you to never give up hope. Remember that God’s promise is greater than your wilderness.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your promises over my life. I pray for the courage to place my faith in your promise and not my circumstance. In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray, Amen.
