One time God called the Prophet Elijah to hide by a brook, while God miraculously provided for Elijah. (1 Kings 17:1-7) As the time came for Elijah to transition to a new season, the brook ran dry and God told Elijah to go live with a widow and her son and that God would then provide for Elijah there. (1 Kings 17:8) Sometimes God will take away His provision in one season, to push you into the next because He knows how comfortable we can get, and how we like things to stay the same. Sometimes being uncomfortable is the only way we’ll be motivated to make a move. Philippians 4:19 reminds us:
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 ESV)
When we trust that God is our ultimate provider, we never have to worry about running out even when resources may run low and seasons change. As God moves you, His provision goes with you. Today, I encourage you to not grow discouraged, but trust that God will continue to provide for you during new seasons.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being my consistent provider during new seasons. When I face uncertainty, remind me of Your continued faithfulness to me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
