Much of our worry isn’t only in the thought that something bad will happen, but even more that we won’t be able to control it. We’re left feeling helpless if we base our security on our own ability and forget that although, no, we are not in control, we do know Who is. We can’t control the future, but God has it all planned out. Proverbs 19:21 tells us:
“Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” (Proverbs 19:21 ESV)
We can’t control other people, but God is in the business of changing hearts. We can’t predict every outcome, but God’s will prevails. We don’t know the future, but we do know the God who created it. Today, I encourage you to surrender to God’s control.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for having complete control over my life and being sovereign. When I want to move ahead of You, remind me that You know what’s best for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
