God gives the same promise of His presence to all believers. Not only is He with us, but He also dwells in us by the power of His Holy Spirit. Romans 8:38-39 tells us:
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39 ESV)
When my children go through phases where they are afraid at night, I’ll sit with them in their rooms until they go to sleep. The presence of their loving parent eases their anxiety, but the moment they hear or feel me leave or try to, their heads pop up and they ask “where are you going?”
Now our Father promises never to leave us. May we be as sensitive as small children to recognize His presence in our lives. When we are aware that God is with us, we become more secure in whatever life throws our way because we know we are never alone. Today, I invite you to seek God’s presence.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being present with me daily. Help me to be sensitive to Your Holy Spirit and presence as I move throughout my day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
