Forgiveness is the key that can unlock God’s joy in your life. Ephesians 4:31-32 says: “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:31-32 ESV)
We have joy because Christ forgave us, and as we are called to be imitators of God, we are to forgive others as well. Not as a pass to them (God is the final judge) but as the way that we find healing and joy.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for dying on the cross for me and forgiving me of all my sins. Help me to forgive others who have wronged me to receive my personal healing and freedom, and experience the fullness of joy that You want for me. In Jesus’ name, amen
