We love to receive gifts, but it also brings so much joy to give. 2 Corinthians 9:7 says:
“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7 ESV)
I know how easy it is to keep things to ourselves. Our time, money, talents, stories, and our lives are many times easier kept unshared. But we’re made for more. We were made to live beyond just ourselves and impact those around us. As we give, we also receive, and what joy that will bring. I encourage you today to think on how you may serve and give back, and then to do it cheerfully.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for being the source of all that I have, and help me to give cheerfully to others. Forgive me for times when I have hoarded Your blessings for myself, and place in me a renewed desire to give freely to bless others. In Jesus’ name, amen
