God loves us more than we could ever comprehend. But we get caught up in thoughts like, “Do I go to church enough?” or, “Do I pray enough?” God has given us these things for a reason, but not to prevent us from losing sight of how much God loves us. There is no church service, no amount of prayer, and no perfect life that can make God love you more. Likewise, there is no sin that can make God love you any less. God is love, and he loves you . . . period.
Romans 8:25 asks, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” The answer: “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39 ESV)
God didn’t save us because he had to. He saved us because he wanted to. So, he’s not going to let any person, power, sin, or anything keep us away from him. I want to encourage you today to remember the love that God has lavished on you so that you may go out and live loved.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your unfailing love for me. Please help me to grow in the knowledge of your love that I may respond with love toward you. In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
