A few months ago, I grew weary of striving. I was burnt out from thinking I needed to work my fingers to the bone and lose sleep to get more, be more, and do more. So, I cried out to the Lord and told Him I was done striving. And I’m sure He was in heaven like, “Good Christina, it’s about time.” I was led to study John 15, where Jesus tells His disciples to abide in Him, and I was reminded that God is not calling me to hustle and strive. He’s calling me to abide in Him. John 15:4 says:

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.” (John 15:4 ESV)

Are you weary of always trying so hard? Are you sick of hustling and feeling like you are not making the impact you desire? Today I want to encourage you to stop trying so hard and do what you were made to do: abide in Jesus. Stay connected to Him, and trust me, everything else will follow. This will free you from all the unnecessary expectations we place on ourselves and empower us to live joyful, fruitful, and free lives.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that You guide me to abide in You and experience the fruitful and joyful life You’ve called me to. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
