Often, when we are looking for a sign from God as to which direction to take, we may miss that He has already told us. We look for a word from someone else or the sky to miraculously open to show us what to do, but deep down in our souls, we already know the way God is leading us. During times like this, we might hesitate in fear and disobedience because we don’t know how it will work out, or we just don’t want to do it, but not every move needs some miraculous sign in the sky. Honestly, most will not. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)
We can make the mistake of looking for all kinds of signs and confirmation before we move when God has already told us what to do. So we’re waiting on God for a sign and He’s waiting on us to obediently do the last thing He told us to do. If God said go, then that’s the only sign you need because where God guides, He provides. Today, I invite you to move forward in boldness and go where God leads you.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me the courage and boldness to step forward with confidence in the things You have called me to do. When I doubt how everything will work out, help me to strengthen my trust in You. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
